Hello everyone. I'm taking my daughter and her friend to see a Broadway show. They're both 14 years old. What do you recommend they see?

Thanks :)

Ditto with Jordan. The Little Mermaid is a good one, too.

All of these are great suggestions. But they are very mature. The Little Mermaid would be too young for them, in my opinion. And they have already seen Wicked (I should have said that in the first place).

Grease, Hairspray, Legally Blonde, and Mamma Mia are my choices.

It's the Little Mermaid. Wouldn't every girl be excited to see it? I'm 18, and I was hyped!

Hairspray
Phantom of the Opera

If they are very mature - Curtains, Jersey Boys

I'm so glad I'm not 14 anymore. I forgot how patronized I used to feel coming on the boards.

Im 14 and I just saw RENT. So since there mature, I guess that's an option.

I'd suggest Jersey Boys, Legally Blonde or Young Frankenstein also.

SPRING AWAKENING. It's about kids that age. Very graphic.

AVENUE Q. Dirty Sesame Street. Very funny.

I'm only offering these suggestions because you said they were mature.

I'm more worried about the parents' reaction to these shows. re: What should I take two 14 year olds to see?

Rent is a good choice, especially since it's closing June 1.

I'd say Legally Blonde or Xanadu. Although it depends, I was already a broadway nerd at 14 so I would have wanted to see A Chorus Line, Chicago or Spring Awakening.

do you think that a 14 year old who loves deep, emotional musicals would enjoy XANADU?

Even if they are mature 14 year olds, they wouldn't feel comfortable sitting through Spring Awakening with a parent next to them..I know I wouldn't..and besides, you don't want them growing up too fast. They may not even appreciate it. See something light and keep them young while you still can.

I would say Legally Blonde or Xanadu

There are some fantastic plays you can take them to see. It's not all musicals. re: What should I take two 14 year olds to see?
