I was just curious to know if anyone has any of Toni Braxton's songs from Aida and Beauty and the Beast. They are almost imposible to find. I have been looking for a long time, can anyone help me out? Also, has anyone heard if Toni is coming back to Broadway, or staying in Vegas?
I saw her peform on REGIS AND KELLY with Will Chase when she was in AIDA. It may be on YouTube somewhere.
She has a nice voice, but it was the wrong range for the song. I think she did "Written in the Stars," and the song felt flat and entirely lacking in passion. Again, that had more to do with the range the show was originally written than her actual talents. Broadway Blog: 50 Amazing Broadway Performers AND From the Mouth of Stephanie J. Block
Have you heard the cast recording for Aida? Cause if you were blown away by Toni Braxton's version, then you will hopefully enjoy them sung by someone with the correct vocal range. I like her voice and all, but was not impressed with that particular performance. Especially the "acting."
^ Ya... I do! they cast a lot of people who suck in Big roles cause of thier name! Seriously watch that performance.... it was either American Idol or So you Think you can Dance that she performed at........ SHE SUCKS!
I love Toni but most of the reviewers in Vegas are saying that her voice is not as strong and she does not hit all the old notes. The show is doing well, but most people I know who have seens the Vegas review (also huge Toni fans) were underwhelmed.

Wow- I have never seen her live but I don't even love her voice on record. I couldn't imagine seeing her playing either of those roles. And Heather Headley gave a performance of a lifetime.
I saw her Vegas show and agree that her voice live isn't quite as strong as it used to be/isn't as great live. I think the problem is that sometimes she has such a deep voice that it's hard to even hear her (at least with the Vegas show).
