the excitement I felt around there just made my own for seeing it on Wednesday multiply endlessly.

re: Welcome Home Rapp & Pascal Hmmmm, endless multiplicity
....Please contain yourself or you might faint and miss the show.

It IS an image, isn't it?

I suppose now that I've admitted my bias, I get to be trolled around and mocked, is that how it goes? I can't be excited without being accused of being a fainting fangirl, even though I am WELL past my years of teenaged flailing.

I've posted my Adam-centric observations on his thread, but here's a review from an entertainment blogger -
if they didn't want to pay rent then...

Don't take it personally, he clearly has nothing better to do than tail this thread and make flat jokes at the expense of a bunch of people who not only disagreed with him, but pretty fairly invalidated his arguments.

Here's some more poisonous biased earnestness: I'm going to be anxious the entire week until I see it.

Look out, he'll get you, too! Or, wait, you might be safe, since your username isn't a reference to a show that Adam was in -- in which plenty of other actors played the same role, no less.

We already established that I'm an easy target (with no credibility) because of my avatar of Adam. Which is clearly slavish in nature.

If this were DL I would just assume of one them turned him down once. Good thing we have class on BWW.

hey all - just got home. I have some pictures but am too tired to post them. I will tomorrow.

Tonight was very exciting. Adam and Anthony were fantastic - Tamyra sounded great and is a pretty decent actress. I was pleasantly surprised by her performance.

The stage door was a total mess. As soon as I saw that they weren't using barricades, I lost all hope of getting a picture/autograph. It was like a Backstreet Boys concert circa '97 - the Nederlander staff was completely unprepared and totally swamped.

LOL! If one doesn't agree with you than one's opinions are not valid. So says you!

It really seems like basic common sense to set up barricades for this run. I don't get why they wouldn't.

Barricades are for "Les Miserables"!

I don't either. The ppl there acted surprised at how many fans there were outside. They stayed for like, 5 minutes and then had to jump in the car - it was nuts!

No, I don't believe that's what I said. Rather, I inferred that your opinion was invalidated by your bratty and contentious communication style. Not to mention that the argument against their age, while objectively valid, is an argument of semantics that itself was mostly chipped away into nothing. It's not their age, it's everyone's awareness of their age. Which is a personal problem, not an objective one.

Nevermind all that, though.

I heard that they just got dropped off around the corner. A few people were able to catch them both and said they were both more than happy to take pictures/sign.

Is Adam wearing nail polish in that photo?

the second that pascal appeared on stage, the crowd absolutely erupted into screams not normally heard inside a broadway house. pandemonium broke out

Oy! Sounds like the Fan Girls outdid themselves tonight. "Wicked" must have had empty seats tonight.

andrew, these fans chased the car around the corner? WTF? I know why they stopped around the corner today, but for the sake of all the completely rude and inappropriate fans lurking, they're NOT going to do that every night, so don't even bother trying a stupid stunt like that again.

There were so many Rent-related people there last night. I saw Michael Greif walk into the theatre before the show. Allan Gordan (the producer) was wandering around as well. Gwen Stewart watched the show from the sound booth downstairs and Harley Jay was in standing room. I wasn't even looking out for these people, but I just happened to recognize them. It was just cool that even the jaded suits that probably haven't seen the show in years were even excited to see Adam and Anthony again.

Everyone was so unprepared for the stagedoor. The cops at the stagedoor seemed so perplexed. They were called down from 42nd street and had no idea why half of 41st street was blocked. siamese dream and I bumped into them again on our way to the subway. Apparently DeRosa is a big Rent movie fan. re: Welcome Home Rapp & Pascal

They had those dividers that look like seatbelts - the ones that they sometimes use at the movie theater to separate ticket lines. They used it to make maybe a 2 1/2 foot wide walkway for them to get to the car. By the time Adam, Anthony, and Tamyra were in the middle of the sidewalk, that thing was totally pushed together.

One of the staff - I guess the manager or something, said to the workers who were trying to keep order, "thank GOD you guys were here!" I was like how did they not expect this?

*headdesk* I can't believe someone didn't stop and think about the massive crowd of people that would be waiting there tonight... seriously. I so wish I could go see these two. I don't care if they're "too old" to play the roles. They created them, especially Anthony who was the original Mark from day 1 so they will always have a bond with these characters. It's all about acting and I have a feeling they can still pull off these characters even if they're not in their 20s anymore. Theatre is about entertainment, if they can entertain, then they're doing their job and I don't see the problem with asking them back.

Next up, Andrea McArdle recreates her role in "Annie". She may be too old, but she can still act it so all is fine. Can't wait to see it.
