Harada, Hocking & McCartney in Concert TONIGHT at Birdland!

Hold on to your hats as belting Broadway divas Ann Harada (Avenue Q), Leah Hocking (All Shook Up, Hairspray) and Liz McCartney (Bingo, Mamma Mia, Taboo) storm the stage and rattle the rafters in an evening of song, stories, and unbridled mayhem. This concert is part of The Winter Season at Birdland, presented by Jim Caruso and TheaterMania.com, which features top Broadway performers and composers at the legendary club.

In TLC (Three Loud Chicks), Harada, Hocking and McCartney will try to out-belt each other with material which running the musical gamut from Broadway to rock, Elton John to the Monkees. In the “Fat Chance Medley,” the trio will sing songs from shows in which they will never be cast. Hocking and McCartney will also perform the duet they sang in Broadway’s infamous Dance of the Vampires. These three gals will share theater war stories, sing their lungs out, and have a ball onstage. The show is directed by Alan Muraoka (John Tartaglia AD-LIBerty and The Leading Men), with Gary Adler (Altar Boyz, Avenue Q) as musical director.

Birdland has been a world-class music room on the Manhattan nightclub scene since 1949. Jazz superstars Sarah Vaughan, Count Basie, Dinah Washington, and more recently Ann Hampton Callaway, Diana Krall, John Pizzarelli and Tito Puente have all performed on the Birdland stage. The room offers top-flight music in a world class setting, good sight lines and acoustics, and a menu featuring award-winning Southern cuisine, available until 1am. Most recently, it’s become the home of Cast Party, the weekly Monday late night showbiz gathering featuring impromptu performances by the Broadway, jazz and nightclub crème de la crème.
