I went to see Woman in White again and I really would love to see Maria play Rose in Gypsy. Looking back over all the stuff that happened, it seemed like there might still be a chance that it would happen in the future. Anyone know?

As far as I know, yes, it's still in the works.

I'm sorry! I'm in the dark on this one. Would Gypsy be on Broadway then? ...and how would this coincide with her treatments. Would it be a long way off. Sorry I haven't heard anything about Gypsy.

I believe-please correct me if I'm wrong-Friedman was slated to play Momma Rose in Texas right before her stint as Marian started but apparently the producer of the show did something (people who actually remember help me here) and she quit or was fired or something, hehe. Sorry for my lack of knowledge but no, the show was not supposed to play on Broadway.

Wasnt Betty Buckley supposed to play mrs lovett or something too at that same southwestern place? Idk it was a debacle that will be another one for the record books

I do remember Betty Buckley was mentioned on the articles related to Friedman leaving the show because apparently the producer is really hard to work with.

Yes, she was suppose to star in a production of Gypsy in Texas.

Once she got the role for Broadway, she got out of that contract so she could be ready to rehearse the role of Marian for NY
