Has anyone seen this? There was an add for this in the Dog Sees God Playbill and I'm very curious about the production. Can anyone give me some info on the play?

I loathe John Cariani, so that's an instant turn-off for me. But I love Miriam Shor, so I will probably end up seeing it. I believe TheaterMania has a $25 discount code.

I *hate* that I missed Miriam in Hedwig. re: Almost, Maine

Ms. Shor's smile is bright enough to light Manhattan. She's a great talent.

Performances haven't begun yet. I think they start this week.

Yes, but there was an out of town run in Maine.

I'm going to give this a shot. I mean, how bad can a show be for $25?

john cariani is a terific guy...what do you mean you loathe him...

and, by the way, he's not IN the show, he wrote it. (and i suspect you haven't seen the play to loathe it).

and, by the way, i HAVE seen it. you will eat your words. its very, very good.

I don't loathe him as a person. I don't know him. I've intensely disliked all of his work.

when you say 'you intensely dislike all of his work' do you mean his work as a playwright? or are you judging his writing by his work as a performer?

and if so...isn't that kinda lame...?

I'm a Mainah, so I got the opportunity to see the show's premier up here... Personally, I loved it a LOT. Some very funny and tender moments, although it's a little like "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change" in play form...And set in Maine.

Has anyone seen the New York production yet? How is it?

First preview was last night. Here's a link to a mostly positive review from ATC:

But I think "Almost Wyoming, Almost Wyoming" is equally good. I might starve to death trying to choose between them.

I saw the first preview friday night. I wasn't aware what the format was like, and first found it a bit annoying, but the stories really started to grow on me. Some were better than others. There was also some really cute cliche's they played around with, predictible as some of them may have been.

The acting was incredible. These four actors have pulled together and become such a great team. I cant imagine how difficult it must be to establish a defferent character every ten minutes or so. Bravo to the cast. I loved it, and I will definitely be taking more people to see it.
