I'm going to see Woman in White this Friday Night - can't wait. I'm a huge ALW fan, and I've been disappointed The Beautiful Game and Whistle Down The Wind never made it here (especially in a post 9/11 NY, those two seem even more appropriate)

Anyway - was wondering two things
1- any possibility of a new WIW recording with the changes that have been made as well as Michael Ball as part of the cast
2 - what is the souvenier CD they're selling at the show - want to know how much cash I should bring with me that night

Thanks folks - glad I found this site

my God do I love The Beautiful Game, have the cast recording in English, and the German one.....

As with most London transfers, I doubt another cd will be made.

I thought I had heard that there would be, mainly because of Michael Ball, but I don't have any references for you to verify that. I'll see if I can find where I read that. So, don't get your hopes up based on this. I don't think that there has been any official decisions. However, the OLCR is quite good and was recorded live opening night in London during the performance. They rerecorded places where the audience could be heard.

There is no Broadway cast recording of Chitty. It was listed in several places as the Broadway recording, but it is the US issue of the London cast.

I think it will depend on the number of changes. Sunset Boulevard received a second recording mainly because there were a lot of changes, and it didn't hurt that Glenn Close is a household name.

The Palace Theatre ( which underwent renovations after Les Mis moved to another theater) in London was equipped with recording facilities which enabled the recording of the opening night performance.

Anybody know if the Marquis has recently been outfitted for that purpose recently?

Oh Lord, not again.

That's the U.S. release of the London recording. It was incorrectly identified as the Original Broadway cast. We've been through this 80 times. The Broadway cast never went in to the recording studio, and with the show's closing, won't.

WIW is also recently reissued at a lower list price, for those who are interested!

The chances of a recording of the New York cast of The Woman in White are slim to none, unfortunately.
