"If I were a performer, I would REFUSE to perform in such a situation."

"Me saying that I would not perform is not childish or ignorant. I didn't say in this exact situation."

-Munk. That's pretty self explanatory.

ENTIRELY off topic..but 442, why haven't you responded to any of my PMs?

And Corine, umm...the last minute has passed, I don't think things have worked out.

In response to the question 2cents asked, yes the show is done in several cities a year and all of the other productions are done with canned music. I did the production in Chicago a few years ago. My friends and family who came to see the show didn't even realize the music was not live.

Munk, I feel fairly certain that the interview with the one girl really didn't display how she feels. I'm sure all the Rockettes have been told what they can and cannot say when approached by the media. Beyond that, she also might be afraid to say how she feels, because it could put her job in jeopardy. This time of year is definitely NOT a good time to be out of work.

I wonder how they changed the moments in the show when you actually see the orchestra? I remember seeing the show in 1989 and the orchstra was up on stage, the platform lowered them into the pit, and at another point, their platform came up all the way upstage.

A very good friend of mine has been playing Mrs. Claus for the past couple of seasons. I'll have to ask her about this. If I find out something (postable), I'll put it up here.

I would like to bump this thread, because something very important has been brought up:

"If I were a performer, I would REFUSE to perform in such a situation."

"Me saying that I would not perform is not childish or ignorant. I didn't say in this exact situation."

-Munk. That's pretty self explanatory.

I'm glad someone brought this up even though we all knew it was pretty self explanatory that Munk is extremely hypocritical.

I also find it funny that Munk tried to turn his own stupidity around and cover his ass while trying to make me look like the irrational one.

Ha!

(P.S. Notice how Munk hasn't responded since!) re: Radio City's Got Trouble!

442. What is this obsession you have with either "winning" or having to be "right"

the HA! reads as extemely immature and I say that not as a slam to you but to let you know that several people react to what you're writing by the tone it presents.

You can't begin to assume (that's what you're doing) why someone hasn't posted since their last post in a thread. Maybe they have nothing more to say. Maybe they know it won't matter. Maybe they logged out and did something offline. I know.. CRAZY!

That being said, regarding him being "extremely hypocritical" - I believe you really mean he's being extremely contradictory.

442namffug - do the first 6 words sound familiar to you by any chance?

Thanks Craig for saying all I wasn't going to.

Umm...back to topic???

My understanding is that the managment and the union had worked out a deal and the union was ready to sign the contract when the management pulled the agreement off the table at the last minute.

That strikes me as manipulative, cynical and just plain shi**y. What options are the union leaders left with? Management effectively forces a strike and then stands back and acts put-upon and apologizes to all the doughy out-of-towners who want to watch the girls high kick. People (sheep that they are) see the photos of the sad little children and blame the union.

Next thing you know, people on BWW are fighting amongst themselves about what the union has done, but it is really choreographed 100% by The Man. Divide and conquer is one of the tools of choice of the oppressor class. Don't give in people--keep your eyes on the facts.
