I bought it.
I have to get used to it as I have been listening to the Australian Cast Recording for a couple of years and now have to listen to a new voice and line up. I like Hugh tho~

And I like Jarrod Emmicks version of I HOnestly love you.

In Australia they only had 11 pieces in the orchestra do they have a full orchestra with string section etc?

LOVED The show when I saw it and I LOVE the cast album! The singers and orchestrations are great!

Stocking stuffers for me, too. Wicked, TBFO, Avenue Q, and Fame. Hey if I am not paying for it, why not get FAME and compare it to the tour?

The CD is WONDERFUL!!! Although (of course) as with almost every cast recording it is impossible to capture the magic and excitement of experiencing the show live. This is a beautiful, moving, wildly exciting show. Revved-up but the incredibly stellar cast that practically blew this baby through the roof.
Jackman is a "force of nature" and Keating has to be seen to be believed. She gives a hauntingly beautiful, perfectly etched performance. Yeah...yeah...yeah...I know...the "critics" raked the 'book' over-the-coals. But come TONY time, "OZ" will walk away with it's fair share, and the show is guaranteed to go down in B-way history as being THE MOST EXCITING show experience of the 2003/4 season. Cheap tickets ($45.00) can be had almost every (week)night at TKTS...and the seats are usually in the front mezz. It's the best deal on Broadway.
Oh yeah...a nice thing about the CD is that they've included a bonus track; the gorgeous ballad "Tenterfield Saddler." And since it was just released today they're selling for the "special price" of $14.99 at most stores. re: Boy From Oz CD

I'll be in New York by tomorrow - so I can pick up a copy of the OCR.

Looking forward to it -- and seeing the show a number of times ( all right up front) re: re: re: re: re: Boy From Oz CD

I pre-ordered mine from Amazon, so now have to wait another two weeks at least to get it, as I'm not in the States.
