ANNIE in the late seventies, with Roseanne Sorrentino as Miss Thing herself(whatever happened to...?)

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

When I was 5 I saw 'The Phantom of the Opera' and surprisingly LOVED it lol!

Well there is a story to it also, but it is kinda stupid hehe. Anyway, my parents would play the CD non stop so I could learn the general plot line and such and I fell in love with Sarah Brightman and adored her to know end. Well, we go to the show and ofcourse she is not there because it was like 1995 and so (keep in mind I was 5) at intermission I turned to my parents and said something like this girl is good, but she is no Sarah Brightman as if I was the all knowing 5 year old god and the people behind me just like stared at me for a bit in awe that I knew something like that hehe! For me, it was Raisin in 1974.

Incidentally, for the original poster, I'm pretty sure that The Magic Show played its entire run at the Cort Theatre.

My first Broadway musical was HIGH SPIRITS starring Beatrice Lillie and Tammy Grimes. Carol Athur (Mrs. Dom deLuise) was featured as a batty maid. I guess that was 1963 or 64.

Dollypop,

Did Beatrice Lillie really take like fifty bows after "Talking To You"? :)

Mr. Roxy,

And don't forget that chart-buster "Look, Little Girl." :)

I don't remember Bea Lillie taking "like fifty bows" after any number in the show. That was in 1963 and I was a Junior in high school. I've now been teaching juniors in high school for 33 years. Certain memories fade.

The Paper Bag Players- I was three.
I knew I was hooked, I ran around the house singing
"What came first the chicken or the egg"
I would beg my parents to take me again.
They knew then my love for theater.
I can't wait to take my nephew to a show he is three. Updated On: 10/12/04 at 07:52 PM

First musical was Annie. Early 80's - I was around 11. Loved it, learned it, sang it all the time!! I think I still know all the words to all the songs! :)

First ever--either The Music Man with Eddie Albert or The Sound of Music with Florence Henderson (don't remember which one I saw first).

First actually on Broadway--Applause with Lauren Bacall.

Loved 'em all.
