Is anyone attending this year? This post is directed towards kids 10-17. I am going next week, and I know LilDancer is going. Anyone else? I am so excited! We get to see Gypsy, tour backstage, have a post show Q&A with the cast, etc. I'm sure you all have heard of it. Has anyone else gone?

Hey! Yup, I have gone to Camp broadway for the past two years, I LOVE IT!!! For anyone who hasn't gone, it is an absolutely amazing experience! And hey you get to go to a show, and take a backstage tour, it's pretty nifty!

camp bway sounds so fun..too bad i missed the cut off by 2 years hehe... i know some camp maybe it was camp bway? had Q&A at hairspray/got to learn some dance numbers. Id love to open up a school like that..not only where kids could benefit from teaching but also learn from pros.

What all do you do at Camp Broadway>?

You can check out the website for a schedule. Each day, we have vocal, dance, and theater training to prepare to do a few songs and scene from a musical to perform at the end of the week, as well as a musical number the group creates to perform. During the week, we see a show. We get a tour of the backstage area, and after the show, we stay and have a Question and Answer session with the cast. This year it's Gypsy. Oh, not to mention teh seats are orchestra- no rear balcony like some camps do-lol. You also have a Broadway specialist come in and work with you each day in a specific performing arts area. It's an awesome camp. Too bad its only for a week!

If it involved directing in any way I'd consider it, but if it's pretty much acting and singing...

Hmm....I don't know about directing- but I know that make-up designers come in and work with the campers, teach them how to do stage makeup and such.

The camp broadway kids were at Gypsy July 9th. It was cute :) Lunch with John and Tammy and some other cast members, a backstage tour, the show, and I believe a Q&A with cast members.

I really really wanted to go this year, because it's one of my last years to go (I'm 16), but I forgot about it...I definitly wanna go next year though!
