Not the best score I've heard but it has some catchy songs and some nice orchestrations. The music has an eighteenth-century feel to it but the electric guitars are not neglected, too.
If you like this recording, you may also want to buy "Elisabeth", the style is similar.
I didn't know of Trans-Siberian Orchestra until now but I downloaded the music samples from their website. If those are representative for their overall sound, there are similarities but Mozart! sounds a bit more classical. (I'm referring to the 1999 Vienna cast recording, there are others on soundofmusic.de, but I never listened to them).
TSO rocks. I own Mozart and Elisabeth only for the fact that they are somewhat oddities here in the US. I do not get to listen to them too too much as I know nothing about the german language.....
I have seen Mozart! and it wasn't so great, but I like the music. I don't regret that I own this disc.
You must die to live forever
I will show you the depths of the night
We can never go wrong together
I will take you to the end of the line
My eyes are like a shadow on you
TSO is by far the nicest group of touring musicians I've met. They must have spent three hours after one of their Christmas shows in RI sitting at tables and signing autographs and having actual conversations with the audience members.
