Further to Mr. Rodgers' little grandson Adam....

Broadway.com is reporting (glad they're still good for something) that Guettel's new musical "Light in the Piazza" starting in Seattle next Saturday night might come to Lincoln Center after Seattle and Chicago.

The music to this one is beautiful...although no one could be as good doing it as Adam himself is on the several private demos he's done of the score.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy...and of course, his mother (Mary Rodgers Guettel) was the long time head of Juilliard which is located at Lincoln Center.

I forgot to mention: Ryan Scott Oliver. He's an up and coming new composer here in Southern California. I truly believe he's going to be the "new sound of musical theater." I'm sure you'll all be hearing of him soon!

If I had to choose one favorite composer it would have to be Harold Arlen.

Runners up: Cole Porter, Rogers & Hart (Larry Hart was IMHO even a greater lyricist than Porter) Jerome Kern, Jules Styne, Harry Revel.

Sondheim is in there too, though he can infuriate me as much as pleasure me.

Maury Yeston is definitely my favorite composer. Not only does he have an amazing way with composition and lyrics, but he writes great songs for the leads and songs that truly show the talents of the ensemble. Not to mention every musical he had on Broadway won the Tony, and I have a feeling he's going to win again this year.

So yeah, in short, Maury rocks.
