Insert in the Thursday(2/19) Playbill for "Wicked"

Knowing that Kristin had been out for the Wednesday matinee, my wife and I went to the theater on Thursday night wondering if she would perform. When we received our Playbill we found that dreaded insert. But this one said:

"To our valued theateregoers: Please be aware that Kristin Chenoweth has aggravated a previous injury to her neck. She is getting better every day, is no longer in pain, and does not want to miss a performance. As a result, however, she will be wearing a protective neck collar during the show."

During the part of the show in which she "shows" the wicked witch how to turn her head so that her hair flips the right way, she stated: " Do it like this, but be careful no to hurt your neck like I did." The audience laughed and cheered at this line.

I guess so many other actors take the easy way out and just don't show up. But she was there for her fans and did not disappoint. Her acting was great, although just a little "stiff", if you know what I mean. Cheers to Kriistin !

BTW- the neck collar was just a regular foam neck brace with a string of gems in the middle.
