I realize the show wasn't everyone's favorite - but it sure was mine - and I'd go further and say GHD was one of the best musicals.... in many different Tony years, not just 2017... So many layers... ..maybe a lyric change or two and one plot point short of perfect.

To me, it ranks right up there in "Favorite Theatergoing Experiences" with some of the greats - which I've seen and loved --in its own way...

I reread the NYT/Brantley review last night and it was positive>rave, so not the only one who thought so -

I saw it in London... I saw it several times on Broadway... and my planned European trip next year coincides with timing and am going to consider every option to alter plans to travel to see it. (My wife just texted me while typing this and said, "I'm serious... cut Italy short and go to London to see it..."GROUNDHOG DAY Will Return to The Old Vic

I still want to know how they did the part where...he climbs up a ladder? or something? and then appears onstage again-I think that's during the act 1 finale.

Body doubles and wigs.

A few publicly posted videos out there on the YT should reveal the trickery noted... 2nd act, 2nd song..

I am so happy this is returning to the stage.   I thought that Andy Karl gave one of the finest performances I have ever had the good fortune to see on stage.  One for the ages.  I loved the show and the music . Also I wish Barrett Doss would come back to Broadway.  I loved her voice.   My ony (tiny) criticism with the show, and this is more noticed on the CD, that some of the songs to me lack an "ending" button, or at least to me they appear to.  But it is a go-to cd for me.  I never tire of hearing this beautiful score.

I'm now a proud, US-based member of London's Old Vic - solely to get earlier access to Groundhog Day tickets- which I scooped up this morning for two June performances. Lucky me!

With that said, the ticket pricing was just silly vs Broadway prices... No booking/ticket fee (for members at least) - and seats at most performances after opening range from around $16/£13 for back/side/high seats to $27/£22 for center mezz (dress circle.. totally good seats from where I saw this in 2016) to the $95/£77.50 I paid for center orchestra (stalls) - one seat off the most expensive ($171/£140) seats in the house on the weeknight I'm attending (weekend maybe $10 more for top tix, it appears).

I mean, you could take a family of 4 for $64, if so inclined.

Wish we could import this pricing to the US...
