I know Tom Hanks snagged the film rights (or the option) to set this up at his Playtone Productions.  Does anyone have any updates?

I really love "Grace of my Heart" - interesting fact: Kristen Vigard who played "Annie" before being replaced by Andrea McArdle dubbed Ileana Douglas in the film.

I love Kristen Vigard’s vocals and the song “A Boat on the Sea” on the “Grace” soundtrack.

Are you guys thinking that since “Grace of My Heart”  very loosely covered Carole’s career, there’s no appetite for a film version of the Broadway musical even though the 3rd national tour of “Beautiful” is still a huge hit?

When “Respect” kind of tanked at the box office, my hopes to see “Beautiful” filmed were kind of dashed, but, I’m hoping it makes it to the screen someday.

First of all, how much of the general public has ever even heard of Grace of My Heart? Second of all, pretty much a lot of the more adult movies really struggled most at the box office last year due to COVID-19. In the Heights and West Side Story were especially among them. I wonder if this particular project could eventually get made and released via streaming service.

On a side note, let me say that I actually would be interested in seeing Greta Gerwig direct it.
