Hey thanks for your input, but since it is a bit of a treck to get to NY from the West Coast, & I don't forsee being back until next X-mas at the earliest, I went to MR again. I had a bit of time to browse at that little shop at Schubert Alley, & flipped through the Tootsie program. The pictures of the set didn't impress me much compared to MR.  I've listened to the Tootsie cast album. For myself, I think I made the right decision. Like I said in the above post, there was a single seat center orchestra on Ticketmaster this morning at an ok price. I don't know whose seat it is regularly, probably a house seat, but three separate ushers who I showed my ticket to all did a double take and then looked me up & down as they directed me to the seat. It was amazing - a couple times Karen Olivo looked me right in the eyes. She is one hell of a performer.

That’s incredible. I have to admit I had such a phenomenal time when I saw this (from left mezzanine) in September that I’m afraid to go a second time for fear that it won’t live up to my first superb experience.

In your case Miles, since you already have your plans set for your upcoming work trip, I would suggest for the next time you are in the city that you leave a slot or 2 open and watch to see if a good seat pops up day of.
I'm seeing Hadestown today, & I just checked Ticketmaster to see if they do anything similar. There are no singles center orch, so the few left are still $349. There's one off to the side orchestra at $249. Considering side mezz is regularly $199 now, they probably consider that discounted. Anyways, I definitely won't be able to see Hadestown twice this trip as I do want to see the other last couple things I have tickets for before I fly home tomorrow night.

Am I the only one that’s surprised Wicked out grossed The Lion King for the first time in years? I find this even more fascinating as Wicked’s been hovering in the 80 in terms of capacity this fall and seemed after 16 years to be finally be transitioning from a SRO to a discount bridge and tunnel show like Phantom, Chicago, and former shows like Beautiful, Jersey Boys, and Mama Mia.
