Finished it last week. Had some problems with the ending but overall I loved it. Great adaption of the novel. I felt it captured the spirit of the book (one of my favorites). And it was SCARY.
I loved it. Not all the actors were amazing and some of the dialogue was a bit clunky and that ending was a bit too rushed and heartwarming for what came before it, but my overall takeaway was that it was a really well-done family drama with horror elements.
“The Bent Neck Lady” and “Two Storms” were the high points of the season. Really great storytelling and performances, with the former being one of the best episodes of TV I’ve seen in quite some time. I hope Victoria Pedretti is recognized come award season for her work here - what a performance.
Watched a couple of episodes. Liked some of it -- that scene of the great Henry Thomas getting his kids out of that house in the middle of the night was the real standout. Eventually though I just realized that the reboot of the story, with its tales of adults dealing with childhood trauma and an evil from the past reaching out to reclaim them, is a little too familiar. Ultimately it's just IT with a house instead of a clown.
