I’m sure people will tell me like how the location of the theatre doesn’t determine the success of a show, the location of the out of town tryout won’t either. But I’m curious to know which city, that has been used for out of town tryouts, has been the most successful for shows. As in which city has had the most amount of tryouts of shows that were successful on broadway.
In our millions, in our billions, we are most powerful when we stand together. TW4C unwaveringly joins the worldwide masses, for we know our liberation is inseparably bound.

Sounds like you found a great research project. Have fun.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
For try outs, The National Theatre in Washington D.C. as well as the Kennedy Center are pretty popular places to see shows. I was able to see the last performance of MEAN GIRLS at The National and will be doing the same later this year with BEETLEJUICE. And GIGI played the Kennedy Center before it transferred to NY. I regretted LITTLE DANCER didn't go any further yet I noticed it's playing in Los Angeles this coming March.
When I lived in Seattle, the 5th Avenue Theatre was used for many shows trying out. For better or worse I got to see HAIRSPRAY, THE WEDDING SINGER, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, DISNEY'S ALADDIN and SAVING AIMEE (which later changed its title to SCANDALOUS). Also aborted shows like LONE STAR LOVE (with Randy Quaid) and PRINCESSES (with Brent Barrett).
