Is there a specific reason why when nominees are announced at the awards show that the theater name is included? Or is just a case of tradition? You don't hear the nominees announced this way at the Tonys.

Alos, I love the longtime female announcer, great voice and easily recognizable as the voice of the Oliviers.

The awards were originally known as the Society of West End Theatre Awards, but they were renamed in honour of the British actor Laurence Olivier in 1984. Pre-1984 you won a SWET Award.

The Olivier Awards, are presented by the Society of London Theatre (SOLT) to recognise excellence in professional theatre in London at an annual ceremony in the capital.

So the inclusion of the theatre name is recognition of the organising and govening body of the awards, SOLT.

The Tony Awards structure is different to the Olivier's. The Tony Awards are governed and presented by a range of differing professional bodies The American Theatre Wing, an organisation dedicated to excellence in theatre and promoting education and The Broadway League, their professional make up encompasses producers, theatre owners, general managers etc... So this may explain why individual theatre's are not listed.

Mariella Frostrup's gravelly voice is so richly distinctive. She is a journalist and TV presenter strongly associated with arts programming.

I agree her voice is beautifully unique.
