I saw on Instagram that Shoshana Bean was participating in a private concert performance of Lempicka at Second Stage last night, and she was giving away a few tickets. I didn't see her post until today, but did anyone manage to snag one or was anyone in attendance otherwise? I'd love to hear thoughts on the piece and Bean's performance.
Bumping this post per Broadway.com's reporting. Looks like the show is now being directed by Rachel Chavkin with Steven Pasquale and Cynthia Erivo in leads.
" Also added to the summer season at the Massachusetts theater are readings featuring stage vets Cristin Milioti, Thomas Sadoski, Alexandra Socha and Ryan Spahn."
I guess beltingbaritone discovered that Shoshana was back with the show as late as Dec 2015.
Note that rest of the cast I mentioned above are not necessarily part of the Lempicka reading, they're just part of Williamstown Theater Festival's lineup which includes other shows. More details on Playbill article.
Update: looks like Eden Espinosa led a production in October 2016. Between Murney, Bean, and Espinosa, I wonder if the casting notices said that they were looking for "An Elphaba type".
This last link also has some sample songs. I don't know how I feel about these samples, but the premise of the show with Rachel Chavkin at the helm sounds quite intriguing.
