We're headed back to the city for the first time in over 5 years. Will hit up TKTS to try and see some shows. Is the Seaport location still the least crowded/best option? Has TKTS changed any in the 5 years since we left? I assume they still show you what seats you will get before you buy?

I was in the city on Friday and used TKTS at the South Street Seaport location. I waited about 30 minutes in line (got there around 11:40).

I've found the Brooklyn location is the least crowded. What they have is usually identical to what the Seaport location has, but not always. Sometimes it can vary slightly. And by the time it gets to Times Square it can vary further with discounts sometimes being increased or decreased. The Brooklyn location is right at the entrance to the "A" train Jay Street station so you can jump off the subway, grab your tickets and be back on headed back to 42nd street in no time. It still works the same as it did 5 years ago but they will tell you what the seat is. Do not expect them to review it with you on a seating chart.

I was at the seaport location at about 12 on Saturday for a Sat night show..and there was one person ahead of me on line. Many show options...

great tips. thanks. i remember them showing you the seats on a seating chart. as long as they tell me what the seats are so i can gage the general location I'm good.

now we have to figure out what to see... we're in town for the long weekend so we hope to see two shows.

A long weekend and only two shows? Come on, you could probably see four!

^ I know, right? Hard to believe someone could actually think there is anything more worthwhile to see or do in New York City than sitting in a theater from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, nonstop. What's wrong with people like that?

I also think the Brooklyn location of TKTS is more convenient to get to and less crowded.
