Another favourite of mine, but WHY? The other film version of the musical is pretty iconic and has the definitive performance of Ellen Greene as Audrey. Besides the fact that they changed the ending, why would a remake be necessary?

One of the most perfect stage to screen musical adaptions ever.
It lost a fortune, one reason not to touch the material again and the other is as above...its perfect as it is!

ha im all for it, cant stand the movie, especially the woman. Like most mooted remakes though there is a high chance it wont come off

There's a great chapter on the making of the film in David Geffen's biography. I've got a soft spot for this film. I really don't see the point in remaking it.

I have a feeling that if Les Miserables is a smash hit, we'll see quite a few musicals getting the green light.
