I'm one of the few who finds them to be four of the worst shows ever written.
"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!"
Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
1) CATS 2) LES MISERABLES 3) MISS SAIGON 4) THE PHANATOM OF THE OPERA
"For me, THEATRE is an anticipation, an artistic rush, an emotional banquet, a jubilant appreciation, and an exit hopeful of clearer thought and better worlds."

I am so with u, redhot...they are all sentimental junk, and in the case of "Miss Saigon," much worse. Using those films was porographic in the truest sense of the term...
And just this morning someone posted "Schindler's List" as a source musical...let's trivialize the Holocaust for profit! Yeah!
And the other thing about the Phantom Lady was, Bert, she realized, in the city that never sleeps...
What did she realize, Kitten?
That all the songs she'd listened to, all the love songs, that they were only songs.
What's wrong with that?
Nothing, if you don't believe in them. But she did, you see. She believed in enchanted evenings, and she believed that a small cloud passed overhead and cried down on a flower bed, and she even believed there was breakfast to be had...
Where?
On Pluto. The mysterious, icy wastes of Pluto.
Miss Saigon, the HISTORY and to know that it REALLY happend is just unreal. Les Mis comes in a VERY close second, as the music is amazing. Then phantom because it is spectacular and Cats because, its ok. lol
CATS is my second favorite of these 4 shows. Even though the LES MIS score has some nice songs in it, I didn't like the show at all - too much pathos for me. And MISS SAIGON... ugh... just a lousy copy of the opera MADAME BUTTERFLY, with nothing new to the story, predictible plot and a bad score. Sorry, MS fans.
Phantom is the only one i actually care for... i'm sorry
Kristin Chenoweth could barely control a Great Dane she trotted onto the stage. "Great, they gave me a dog that weighs five times what I do", she quipped. For the record, she weighs 93 pounds, and has a Maltese.
Someone asked earlier why so many people love CATS. For me it is because of the dancing. Sure there is hardly any storyline but the music is catchy and it is very visually appealing. It is fun. Ummmm.....yeah, did I mention the dancing?

1. Phantom (There will never be another feeling like when I saw it for the first time when I was 10. Say what you will about ALW or that the show is "overrated." When a work truly and genuinly affects someone and changes their life, don't insult them and their emotions by saying that it's "wrong" and that it shouldn't have that effect because you don't respect the work. Respect your fellow theater-goer's emotions and opinions.) 2. Les Mis 3. Saigon 4. Cats (I personally do not like the show at all. But, I do love singing "Memory." )
Les Miserables The Phantom of the Opera Miss Saigon Cats
