I went to the Gentry's other location Sat. PM and asked about tickets and they could not tell me anything. This really irks me. I'll still try to go and report back.

PEACE.

Best of Broadway - Check your 1st post. You DEFINITELY made an error. Why is it always the cynics who can't spell?

Walliwoo - Aren't you attending auditions today?

Oops- sorry- definetly...better. Cause you know my spelling has so much to do with the quality of the show.

And you still spelled it wrong. You have an enormous amount of entertainment value. Thanks for keeping me laughing.

BestofBroadway is just a flamer who loves to goad people into reacting to his/her/it's posts. Hence the bitchy icon. Obviously BoB has nothing intelligent to say, so he/she/it just trashes Hairspray whenever they get the chance. It's rather dull.

BoB - We already know how you feel about Hairspray. You're beating a dead horse. Now if you'd like to please enlighten us all on your view of what talent is, I'm sure we would gladly listen and you'd provide us with hours of entertainment. Otherwise, get on your broom and fly away before someone drops a house on you.

Well, for one thing, talent belongs to someone who can sing on pitch...

I'm glad I entertain you Podium...believe me there are several more spellings of definitly to come...just to keep you on your toes.

Best Of Broadway - I make room for people like you in my life. It's all good. However, if you want to trash Hairspray, this isn't the thread. This is a thread about a benefit being held in Chicago on February 9th that is not even connected to the actress you loathe so much, MJW. She has nothing to do with this benefit nor was she asked to participate. So go puke on another thread.

Podium - It is absolutely FREEZING here!

BoB - There are many talented people who can't sing a note. Try again.

Phantom2 - That's who you've been messing with??? The Milkman? All this time I thought that white stuff around your mouth was from having to eat the chalk in detention.

Matty - Can I call you Matty? Does the river freeze in Chicago? Someone told me that they actually heat it in some spots by the Marina Towers, which by the way is very close to where the benefit is being held, correct? Fact or Fiction?

Really MisterMatt? People in musical theater? I think not. Maybe Elaine Stritch...I'll give you her. I didn't trash anything. I said the walk-ons could do the choreography. Your the one who put it in a negative context.

"I said the walk-ons could do the choreography. Your the one who put it in a negative context."

BitchofBroadway --
YOU are the one who puts that in negative context. You have often cited Hairspray as evidence of Mitchell's "lack of talent"...a s though he were unable to come up with something more complex....
However, if you stopped spewing BS for more than two seconds and removed your swollen head from your very tight netheregions, you would know that in past interviews about his work on Hairspray, you would see that simple choreography was teh intent. Hairapsy has base in an actual, true life dance show with actual, true life teens who were not trained Broadway dancers. The choreogrphy in hairspray, in keeping with that, is centered around a number of historicaly accurate popular danes at the time. And Mitchell has also cited "You Can't Stop teh Beat" as being choreogrphed with teh mind set that audience could pick up on it and learn the dance.

Podium - I do know that parts of the river and the lake freeze close to the shore, but I don't know if it is frozen now. The Marina Towers are fairly close to Gentry. About 6-8 blocks, I think.

BoB - I did not specify musical theatre at all. You did not read my post correctly. I just said talent. But if you think singing on pitch is the only criterion for talent, then it explains a lot. By the way, I've heard Marisa sing on pitch many times. But it's not her pitch that is the sole importance of the role. Oops! I'm giving the "talent" thing away. Please tell us more...

"I didn't trash anything. I said the walk-ons could do the choreography."

Are you related to Clinton? YELLOW FLAG - contradiction in motion!

"Your[sic] the one who put it in a negative context."

Ummm, how did I do that?

PS - "Your" and "you're" have two different meanings. If YOU'RE going to be an immature flamer, then at least try to use common 4th grade grammar correctly in YOUR posts. You do that quite frequently.

Shaiman did a one man show at the Village here in Los Angeles about 2 years ago. It was wonderful. But the bigest surprise were his guest performes; Bette Midler, Patti Lupone and Jennifer Lewis. A wonderful evening. Just a note; Jennifer Lewis mentioned that she was going to be in Hairspray. which as we know never happened.

Good news Matty - There is NO ADMISSION CHARGE. You can still attend. They are videotaping it and simulcasting it throughout the club. The seats that are being sold are the ones directly in the cabaret room. You can still be part of the night, hang out with the cast, watch the video screens or for that matter peer into the room from various vantage points in the club and spend very little money.
