The ending is ambiguous, could be tragic or joyous depending on your interpretation.
"Zac is sweet as can be. He's very much just a sweet kid from California who happens to have a face that looks like it was drawn by Michelangelo, (if Michelangelo did anime)." -Adam Shankman.
"I haven't left this building since Windows 3.1!"
"Celebrating a birthday this week: Rene Descartes is 412! Do you know who he is? Then why are you watching this show? You could probably get into college and even get one of those job things. As for the rest of us; Amanda Bynes is 22! Yay!" -E!'s "The Soup"
Tragic/sad...probably The Purple Rose of Cairo or Imitation of Life.
Happy...The Color Purple and Frequency come to mind. Frequency may not be one of the all-time greats, but that "wish fulfillment" really got to me. The ending of both of these movies had me feeling uplifted while bawling like a baby!
In what? Literature, media? Since you didn't give specifics...
BOOK: "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Picoult It ensnares me every freaking time...because...well, BECAUSE. I can't say why w/o ruining it. (but the movie will be wretched, esp since Dakota Fanning and her sister are in it when they're not the right ages...Dakota could play the younger sister, but not the older one...)
MOVIE: Hmm...so many. I'm going to just say the movie with the biggest impact at the end that I saw in the past few months. And, it's really lame, but it really got me. *blush* I rented Disney's "Meet the Robinsons" (I think that was the exact title...?) and at the very end, they have this quote come up from Disney itself. And one line--those who saw it know which line---omg, it made the move SLAM into me and become really good when before that, it had just been average. I'm such a sap. ^^;;;
TV: Actually, this is a TV show from Japan, but last year, I watched a weekly show called "Nodame Cantabile" and the end of it was so incredibly poignant because it brought everything back to the beginning. Plus, it was ending, so I was all emotional. FUJI just re-aired the series at the beginning of this month as a marathon, so I spent two days watching it all over and it was still such a good ending. Too many TV shows end badly or on a stereotypical note...
