I just saw her in NC in concert. It probably isn't the scale as the one you've mentioned, but she's fantastic. And sooooo nice. I got to meet her. And vocally, she's amazing.

Kenny Werner's arrangements and his Jazz keyboards are to DIE for!!!! I saw her perform with Kenny at The BottomLine just before her "Children Will Listen" album was released. It was SUCH an amazing experience.

I think her best stuff was when she did a "My Fair Lady" homage and sang three songs. "On the Street Where You Live" was great.
Hope you have a great time. Let us know how it goes.

Well, all I can say is she is a GODDESS! Not the greatest of venues, the Catalina Bar and Grille was an adequate facility. A bit noisy with plates and glassware clanging about, and a persistant hum from a bum speaker, but none of that really mattered as soon as Ms Buckley hit the stage. She dazzled in every song, mesmorized with every note. Took us to wonderful places so far away from Sunset and Highland, you needed a visa, passport and more carryon luggage than allowed by the FAA.

She somehow blocked out the above mentioned distractions and created so many incredible moments it was thrilling.

Talked with her afterwards, and she was gracious, charming and lovely. A true lady, a real legend.

Yay, I'm glad you enjoyed it! She is just so wonderful. When she started a new song the whole auditorium just kind of stopped breathing because you didn't really want to miss any of it.
What song did you enjoy most??

they were all so wonderful....she did a heart-wrenching "Fire and Rain" (james taylor classic) and a delightful take on Mary Chapin Carpenter's "I Am A Town."

Both of those were so awesome. I love her take on the songs and how she really makes them come alive. Singing, we need to get that woman back on Broadway.

I saw her in Greensboro, NC. Breathtaking.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
