West End CABARET Eyeing Broadway Transfer to the Hudson?  Jun 17 2023, 12:21:28 PM

Is anyone else thinking that Lea Michele could be onboard for Sally?  She’s stated that she’s already signed up for her next project?  I don’t know the show well enough to know if she’s suitable but it seems like a role to project her career and completely different than FG.

INTO THE WOODS Reviews  Nov 20 2022, 12:59:29 PM

bwayphreak234 said: "I finally saw this yesterday afternoon, and I echo every single rave review on here. This production is so special. The whole cast is just incredible. Mary Kate Moore was on for the Baker's Wife, and she was terrific. What I love most about this production is how true it stays to the original. There are no gimmicks. Lear DeBessonet fully trusts the material, and even manages to mine out the humor in the show in a new and exciting ways I have never seen done w

Audience Rewards - Total Scam?/ TELECHARGE  Sep 27 2022, 03:40:15 PM

I’ve redeemed points many times and always been really happy. Last one was front mezz seats for Moulin Rouge. They were awesome seats and I didn’t have to pay full ticket price!

What is the lowlight of your theatre going experiences?  Sep 15 2022, 05:12:44 PM

Play: The Real Thing.  It was my first Broadway play and after that it was a long time before I went to another play.  Great cast. So underwhelming.

Musical - Pretty Woman.  The only redeeming thing about it was Orfeh who I’d never seen prior. Otherwise it was the movie word for word with some songs thrown in. Such a waste of money (besides Orfeh).

Seeing previews vs after show opens  Sep 7 2022, 06:28:29 PM

I’m always reading on this board how many of you jump to see previews of new shows - some multiple times and I’m wondering why that is? Versus waiting to see it once it’s opened.  Or is it that you do both and like to see what changes were made?

Coming in from out of town I see shows that fit my dates. Sometimes they are still in preview but most of the time it’s after opening.

Curious if there’s more to it than just personal

DEAR EVAN HANSEN Sets September 18 Closing Date on Broadway  Jun 7 2022, 06:50:25 PM

I really loved this show with the OBC. How Ben Platt (and others) did that performance for as long as he did will always amaze me. I’ve never cried so hard at a live performance.  I will always be grateful that I saw this show on Broadway.
The movie…. Not so much.   But oh well.

2021 Broadway Season (for now)  May 6 2021, 03:50:17 PM

Has anyone heard anything more on The Who’s Tommy coming back? It was announced that it would come to Broadway for 2021 with Des McAnuff directing. Wondering now if it’s on hold or maybe a possibility for 2022? Was looking forward to it.

Unpopular opinion: My ranking of the Broadway Hedwigs:  Jan 9 2021, 01:22:04 AM

NOWaWarning said: "Did anybody see Lena Hall as Hedwig? How was she?"

I saw Lena in SF. She was AMAZING!  I only wish she had been given the role on Broadway.
I’ll chime in that I saw most everyone on Broadway except Hall and Diggs.  I enjoyed them all except I really didn’t like Darren Criss. That being said he was much improved on tour.

What Shows Were Great Surprises?  Jul 15 2020, 08:42:35 PM
I agree with OP that SpongeBob was a great surprise and a lot of fun!

Others I would add are:

She Loves Me I saw it right before it closed and I’ll be forever grateful that it extended. Pure bliss. I’ve re-watched it many times on BroadwayHD and still love it. What a fantastic cast!

Doll House Part 2 - I hadn’t planned on seeing it. I had a ticket to Hamilton that night which I gave to my daughter who joined me last minute. I really wanted her to see it. So I got a

The Music Man should do the right thing and postpone/cancel the run now  Jun 18 2020, 06:26:42 PM
I had tickets for Nov 12th. Requested a refund last week. Received a very nice email saying that my refund was approved and on its way. Happened to checked today and my Visa has already been credited. Telecharge has been pretty fantastic through all these cancellations. Miles above Ticketmaster.
What Was The Worst Musical You Saw  Apr 9 2020, 05:38:47 PM

On Broadway Pretty Woman. Such a waste of talent and my time and money. Although it was my first time seeing Orfeh perform, so that was a silver lining.

On tour - Rock of Ages. I don’t know if it would matter where I see this one - definitely not my cup of tea.

I agree. I saw another poster say they were not able to get a refund for I believe Lehman Trilogy until it was officially canceled, but even some people who could once afford tickets may now really need that money back for someone else.

I was really expecting  (hoping) an announcement on April 1st w

Thanks HGR2. I live in Canada, and was planning a trip to NYC end of April/early May (conference). I learned today that due to a var

The Boy from Oz - Hugh Jackman

If I could relive one night I spent at the theater, I'd go back to Sondheim's 80th birthday concert at Lincoln Center. Hearing that enormous chorus and watching them stream into the theater singing "Sunday" is an all time highlight.

"You were there??  How thrilling that must have been! I get teary just watching it on YouTube!
