Broadway Character Costumes  Jun 10 2011, 01:29:32 PM
So I'm having a Tony party and we're having a costume contest. Dress like any Broadway show character. I'm stumped as to what I could be. I need something super creative. Examples from last year were the rainbow for Finnian's Rainbow and the blank paper from [title show]. Anyone have any suggestions?
Las Vegas Shows  Apr 20 2011, 10:43:40 PM
So my brother's getting married in Las Vegas the last weekend in May. I've never been to Vegas before. I've been researching shows playing there, but is there anything worth seeing? Also, does anyone have any tips about getting cheap tickets to these shows?
What is the best production(s) you have ever seen at a reginal theater?  Apr 2 2011, 01:57:49 PM
Into the Woods at the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre. Simply breathtaking!

What key was this song originally written in? Thanks!
re: philly03 reviews WONDERLAND!  Jan 6 2010, 01:29:10 PM
I went to see Wonderland on 12/26 in Tampa. It is certainly NOT ready for Broadway.

While the concept is very promising, the show falls a little flat. The cast is great (Janet Decal makes for a good leading lady), the set/tech was fantastic, the choreography was good, the score is ok, but the book was an absolute mess. (Spoiler?) The worst offender of the book was the god awful chess battle in the end. The fact that Alice and the Mad Hatter were fighting with what looked like pool clea

I really wish I got to see this!

What are the chances that American Idiot is going to snag the St. James?

HAIR! Rear mezz is great!

Rear Mezz is fanatastic. I sat a couple rows from the top and I got plenty of audience interaction.
re: THE STORY OF MY LIFE - Final Performance - 02.22.09  Dec 22 2009, 03:29:15 PM
I had tickets to see the first preview of Guys and Dolls. That got canceled and I decided to see this little gem of a show. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have seen it! Beautiful music, great book, stellar cast...I had tears in my eyes by the end. I'll never forget it!

(And it was a major plus that I didn't have to sit through the awful revival that was G&D)

re: Wonderland Review, Tampa 12/20  Dec 22 2009, 12:19:25 AM
Great, thorough review!

I'm seeing the show this Saturday evening. I don't have high expectations, but hey, it's a great opportunity to see a world premiere show in Florida. So happy to see such a fabulous venue like TBPAC (or rather, the Straz Center) hosting an "out-of-town try-out" (whether or not the show actually makes it to Broadway).

re: IN THE HEIGHTS - 1st US Nat'l Tour Debuts Tonight (10/27/09) in Tampa,  Oct 27 2009, 08:09:00 PM
I probably won't make it over there this week, but I'm definitely checking out the tour when it comes to Orlando in March.

I heard the cast of Wonderland is catching the show tonight - too cool!

re: Jonathan Groff to Join Cast of Glee  Oct 22 2009, 12:02:38 AM
"Plus, a lot of times when shows bring on guest characters for a chunk of episodes like that, if the character becomes a fan favorite and the actor can do it schedule-wise, they'll end up bringing them on permanently"

That's exactly what happened with Jane Lynch on Glee. Her role was supposed to be a small re-occurring role, but she was so fantastic they made her a series regular.

re: Legally Blonde - Saw Lauren Zakrin's Last Performance  Sep 29 2009, 03:09:51 PM
She is definitely leaving the tour. She's on her vacation right now, but will return for her last couple of shows before permanently leaving.
American Idiot  Sep 5 2009, 01:03:53 AM
Obviously the 1st preview isn't over yet, but I'd love to hear any reviews/tidbits of tonight's show if anyone went.
re: What Broadway Stars Do You Follow on Twitter?  Aug 30 2009, 01:06:29 AM
N2N, [tos], Gavin Creel, and John Gallagher Jr.
re: Bway Actors Currently on TV Commercials  Aug 13 2009, 12:32:18 AM
Andy Karl is in a LongHorn Steakhouse commercial. It's literally a split second shot of him laughing at a table with a voice over playing over it.

Rentboy86 - Her character is pretty vague in the play. I don't remember them leaving out anything significant from her character. You almost have to draw your own conclusions about her. They actually added her whole writer occupation for the musical.

re: Anybody interested in doing me a huge favor? (re: Bye Bye Birdie Ticket  Aug 10 2009, 11:18:35 PM
I work at a touring theatre box office and I may have an explanation of how the seat selection works.

When a customer asks for seats, we gather up a couple different sets of seats that are the best available. We put them in our "cart" so another worker cannot snag them from us. Once the customer makes a selection, we release the others to become available again.

That's how sometimes the 4th customer gets 2nd row seats, while the 2nd customer 6th row. It's all about the timing

I am one of the few that adores the music!
