Get ready for a new musical comedy swooping in with tons of laughs and the most 2006 Tony Awards of any musical on Broadway! It's The Drowsy Chaperone - and it's presented by Philip Mann and Louise Beard, in association with Red Mountain Theatre Company, October 7-17, 2010, at the Virginia Samford Theatre (1116 26th Street South).

Be transported to a magical, wonderful world where the critics are in awe, the audiences are in heaven and the neighborhood is buzzing with excitement. Take a cast of characters including a debutante, a tycoon, a gangster, a male ingénue and a European lothario of ambiguous extraction, add some mistaken identities, thwarted romance, 11th hour nuptials, factor in Marx Brothers tomfoolery, toss in tunes inspired by Jerome Kern musicals and you've got The Drowsy Chaperone. Finally, a musical about people who adore musicals!

The Drowsy Chaperone features Birmingham favorites Jan Hunter (The Drowsy Chaperone), Saxon Murrell (Man in Chair), G. Dwayne Johnson (Aldolpho) and ChrisTina Johnson (Janet Van De Graaff). View the full cast list

Show times are Thursday-Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $30-35 (group rates and student rush tickets available). For tickets, call 205-324-2424 or visit www.redmountaintheatre.org.
