Merrimack Hall Performing Arts Center announces MOMENTUM, a performance to benefit Merrimack Hall's free weekly Dance Your Dreams! program for children with special needs.

In this unique performance, Valley Dance Theatre dancers will collaborate with cellist Nicholas Gold to Bach's Suite No. 1. Nicholas will also perform solo pieces to the music of John Corigliano, Kolday, Paganini, Mark O'Connor, and others. Valley Dance Theatre will also perform original choreography in the styles of classical ballet, jazz, modern, and tap.

Nicholas Gold is a 23-year-old native of Alabama who attended the University of Massachusetts. He has won competitions and awards throughout the South and in the New England United States. The Classical Voice of New England describes his playing as "... precise and assured, seeming impeccable...He's clearly a musician to watch."Valley Dance Theatre opened its doors in August 2004 under the direction of Leigh-Anne Beam and since then has attracted students from throughout the greater Huntsville-Madison area.
