The stage lights will illuminate state wide talent on the Wetumpka Depot stage October 29-30 during the Alabama Conference of Theatre's ACTfest. Alabama's community theatre festival is an exciting three day event showcasing community theatres from Alabama. The unique event is a celebration of how community theatres positively impact their respective communities.

"We are delighted to be hosting ACTfest again in Wetumpka," said Jeff Langham, Wetumpka Depot board president. " The opportunity for us to partner with Alabama Conference of Theatre and our state wide community Theatre Partners is one that will be enriching not only for the artists participating but also entertaining for local and out of town audience members."

Entries include Millbrook Community Players (The Dixie Swim Club), Prattville Way off Broadway ( The Curious Savage), South City Players (Steel Magnolias), Leeds Arts Center ( Rabbit Hole), Pell City (new play about Hank Williams), Auburn Area Community Theatre ( Short Subjects) and the Wetumpka Depot Players (The Glass Menagerie).

The state community theatre entries are responded to by a panel of adjudicators and two of the state entries may be passed on to Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) in March 2017 to showcase their production alongside community theatres from across the south. SETC winners progress on to the prestigious American Association of Community Theatre's AACTfest in June 2017. Alabama has been represented nationally by Mobile Theatre Guild's production of Smoke on the Mountain and the Wetumpka Depot Player's production of Second Samuel.

A festival pass may be purchased for $40 or $10 for individual shows. Tickets may be purchased by calling 334.868.1440 or visiting wetumpkadepot.com. The Wetumpka Depot Theatre is located at 300 S Main Street in historic downtown Wetumpka.
