Actors Theatre of Alabama Presents THE GLASS MENAGERIE, 7/12-8/5

By:

Actors Theatre of Alabama and Birmingham Festival Theatre present Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, July 12 - Aug 5. The production is directed by Will York, featuring Celeste Burnum, Jonathan Miles, Amanda Maddox and Trey York.

The amazing Will York directs Birmingham's own Celeste Burnum as Amanda Wingfield in a powerful, exquisite production of the Tennessee Williams classic. Jonathan Miles returns from New York to bring us an exciting new interpretation of Tom Wingfield. Fresh from her stand-out work in BFT's smash "Last Hotel for Women," Amanda Maddox plays Laura, and Trey York is Jim, the Gentleman Caller, who looks exactly like the answer to every mother's prayers.

Charles Moncrief's set design and Jennifer Luck's lighting create a gorgeous dream world where the Wingfield's are made, played out and remembered.

The show runs four weekends, July 12 through August 5 on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. Call (205) 777-5857. Birmingham Festival Theatre is located at 1901 1/2 11th Ave S (behind Golden Temple).

This production has been selected for presentation at the Tennessee Williams Theatre Festival in Provincetown, Massachusetts, in September (twptown.org).

Celeste Burnum and Jonathan Miles appear through Special Arrangement with Actors Equity Association.
