The horror and the poetry of Shakespeare's supernatural tragedy are magnified as the moon rises over Macbeth's castle, represented in this "movable" play by the stone ruins of the Patapsco Female Institute in a Howard County park high above Ellicott City's Main Street. Chesapeake Shakespeare Company pioneered the "movable" play format, in which the audience travels with the actors from scene to scene in the ruins and the park. Wear flat, comfortable shoes for walking and standing outdoors. Parking is free: Use the Howard County Courthouse parking lot and take the shuttle provided there up to the park gate. Tickets may be purchased online in advance at ChesapeakeShakespeare.com. The ticket tent in the park is open only on performance nights, 90 minutes before showtime. Audience size will be limited to facilitate walking from scene to scene. Box office: 410-244-8570.
