Acclaimed and renowned American musical theatre composer Jason Robert Brown will present a benefit cabaret entitled "I Could Be In Love With Someone Like You" on Monday, March 17 to kick of Red Branch Theatre Company's 2014 season. Howard County restaurant Iron Bridge Wine Company will cater the affair with Irish-themed favorites in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. Proceeds will benefit Red Branch Theatre Company's annual operating budget. This promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime event given the opportunity to see this prominent composer in a rare concert appearance in the theatre's intimate, 100-seat space. To top off the cabaret, Mr. Brown will accompany alums of TYA, Drama Learning Center's teen professional company, and the casts of The Love/Loss Cycle in one of his compositions during the evening's performance.

Mr. Brown will participate in a question and answer session with the audience immediately following the show. There will also be the chance to win exclusive Jason Robert Brown memorabilia, and 2014 Red Branch season subscriptions and individual tickets will be available for purchase. Red Branch Theatre Company has secured Iron Bridge Wine Company as a Producer's Circle Sponsor and M & T Bank as an Actor's Circle Sponsor. Event and season sponsorships are still available. Tickets are currently on sale to the general public.

2014 has the potential to be the biggest year yet for Jason Robert Brown-his newest musical, a stage adaptation of The Bridges of Madison County, has just opened on Broadway. A major motion picture has been made of his iconic musical, The Last Five Years. Starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan, it is also slated for wide release in 2014. It has just recently been announced that his musical 13, has also been optioned for film. "We have been producing works by Jason Robert Brown since 2008," states Red Branch Theatre Company Executive Producer, Stephanie Lynn Williams. "Having mounted two separate productions of both Songs for a New World and 13, we were really excited at the prospect to bring this playwright and composer that we hold in such high esteem to our stage." Red Branch Theatre Company will open Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years just a few short weeks after his one-night-only cabaret performance as a part of "The Love/Loss Cycle."
