Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) improv and sketch comedy troupe, The Comedy Pigs, debuted in early 1993. This coming 2012-2013 season they will celebrate twenty years of laughter with eight prime-time shows, eight late night shows and a two week run of a brand new sketch show for a total of twenty-two hilarious nights of comedy. The Pigs are also adding four new members to the pen for this landmark upcoming season.

Veteran troupe members Courtney McLaughlin, Anne Raugh, Franky Russell, Jeff Schnorrand Laura Stark will be joined by newbies Carly Ball, Gary Baker, Chris "C-Mo" Malloy andJulie Williams.  The Comedy Pigs' newest cast members are thrilled to be a part of Maryland Ensemble Theatre's funny farm. New piglet Carly Ball epitomizes the old adage that women should be obscene and not heard. Gary Baker was born in Jacksonville, Florida and since Florida is the place where the Zombie Apocalypse is apparently starting, he thought it was a good idea to get out! C-Mo Malloy, a graduate of Western Maryland College, is a man of no discernible talent but he tries really hard and keeps his mouth shut.  The final new addition to the cast is JuLia Williams who has made it her life's goal to laugh her way through any situation.

Since the Comedy Pigs debuted in 1993 they have performed in nationwide improv festivals, beenfeatured on Comedy Central and have also been guests at the National Pork Producers Convention.  This coming season kicks off with two late nate shows on September 15 and 22 at 10:30pm following performances of Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps on the MET mainstage. Tickets to the late night shows are half-priced with a ticket stub from the mainstage show all year long. Regular ticket prices are $13.50 (includes a $1.50 service fee) and may be purchased at the MET box office in person, by phone (301) 694-4744, or online at marylandensemble.org. All shows are at Maryland Ensemble Theatre, located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street.

After September the Pigs have three shows in October (5, 6, 27) and two shows in November (16 & 17)before taking the rest of the calendar year off to gear up for their brand new sketch show. The sketch show will run on January 11, 12, 18 & 19 at 8pm. In February, the Pigs return with late night shows on the 16 and 23 following Tenesse Williams' The Glass Menagerie. The 20th Anniversary season wraps up with three shows in May (3, 4, 25) and two shows in June (14 & 15).

For over a decade, Maryland Ensemble Theatre has been producing thought-provoking theatre, fun family entertainment, artist residency programs for public schools, challenging classes and the side-splitting Comedy Pigs. The MET is an artistic leader in the region and at the forefront of the creation of Frederick's

Theater District.
