By:

Opening on April 17th 2015, The Milburn Stone Theatre presents Follies, the first and last reunion of the Weismann Follies. Follies, is interspersed with ex-showgirls reprising their old big numbers. Check out photos of the production below!

The atmosphere is heightened by the presence of the ghosts of everyone's former selves, who sometimes sing along, sometimes reenact important events, and sometimes even interact with the present. Follies features an inspiring score with a fourteen piece orchestra and a cast of over thirty performing some of Sondheim's most beloved songs, including "Too Many Mornings," "I'm Still Here," and "Losing My Mind." Follies opened on Broadway in 1971 and ran for 500 performances, it was nominated for 11 Tony awards and won 7 including Best Score.

Follies is part of MST's Celebration of Sondheim, a year-long series featuring some of Sondheim's greatest works as we celebrate the famed composer and lyricist's 85th birthday. Upcoming Celebration of Sondheim productions include: Company and Merrily We Roll Along both running in July, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum in August, Into The Woods Jr. at Elkton Station in August, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street in October and West Side Story in November / December. Three additional unannounced Sondheim productions will take place in the first half of 2016.

Follies stars Michele Guyton (Sally Durant Plummer), Gerri Weagraff (Phyllis Rogers Stone), Tom Wyatt (Buddy Plummer), David Minges (Benjamin Stone), Eileen Law Stewart (Carlotta Campion), John Mulvey (Theodore Whitman), Alexander Vanderlek (Young Buddy), Suzette Burgess (Heidi Schiller), Patricia Lake (DeeDee West), Christy Wyatt (Young Sally), Michael Blum (Roscoe), Alexis Milne (Young Heidi), Nancy Denton (Hattie Walker), Tricia Beichner (Solange LaFitte), Ralph Denton, Sr. (Dimitri Weismann), Karalyn Joseph (Young Phyllis), Mark Dixon (Max Deems), William Bryant (Young Ben), Cindy Mulvey (Emily Whitman) Nick Lutwyche (Major Domo), and Tracy Webb (Stella Deems). Follies features Allison Graham, Joanna DiPaola, Laura Hepp, Lithia Knopp, Marissa Julian, Nick Madden, Paula Smith, Stephanie Smith, Sunny Rayavarapu, Susan Luchey, and Sydney Tristani. Follies also features musical direction by Mandy Milne, choreography by Jackie Kappus and direction by Milburn Stone Theatre Producing Artistic Director, S. Lee Lewis.

About Follies: When former members of the "Weismann's Follies," a musical revue based on Ziegfeld Follies, reunite on the eve of their theater's demolition, two couples remember their brilliant and glorious past and face the harsher and darker realities of the present. In the crumbling glamour and spectacle of the once vibrant and alive theater, the ghosts of their younger selves remind them of the intricate steps they've danced - both on the stage and throughout their lives.

TICKET DETAILS: Adults $18, Seniors and Students $15, Children 12 and under $10. Follies opens Friday, April 17th and runs the 18th, 19th, 24th, 25th, and 26th, 2015. Showtimes are 8:00pm on Friday and Saturday and a 3:00pm matinee on Sundays. Follies is recommended for ages 13 and up.
