Olney Theatre Center's National Players begins its 64th national tour with two free performances of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet August 24 and 25 at 8:00 pm on the Historic Stage. Location has been changed due to storm damage to The Root Family Stage. National Players, America's longest-running touring company, has re-imagined and re-invigorated Shakespeare's most enduring tale.

Olney Theatre Center is a 75-year-old professional, award-winning, nonprofit, Equity theatre. Located just north of Washington, D.C. in arts-rich Montgomery County, Maryland, Olney Theatre Center offers a diverse array of professional productions year-round. Established in 1949 and based at Olney Theatre Center since 1953, National Players is America's longest-running touring company. Founded on the principle of working with communities that have limited access to live theatre, National Players is comprised of professional young actors who travel across the country each year performing two plays in repertory- one Shakespeare and one additional classic. National Players also acts as an educational ambassador, teaching theatre-related courses to students of all ages and backgrounds.
