Modell PAC at The Lyric to Present Free 2013-14 Opera Season Preview Concert, 9/22
The Modell Performing Arts Center at The Lyric will offer a complimentary preview of the gala 2013-14 opera season on Sunday September 22nd at 6:30pm. This FREE concert is open to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis and is our 'thank you' to our supporters for helping continue the success of grand opera in our community.
Join Artistic Director James Harp and artists from this year's season including Jill Gardner and Francesca Mondanaro, our leading ladies in Tosca and Nabucco, for an intimate preview concert of the upcoming gala season. The preview concert will also be featuring the return of Ta'u Pupu'a from his stellar performance in last year's production of Rigoletto, Baltimore favorites Colleen Daly and Timothy Mix, and introducing Oren Gradus, making his Baltimore debut in the role of Zaccaria in Nabucco. The concert will feature selections hand-picked by Artistic Director James Harp and will feature the best arias and ensembles of the 2013-14 Opera Season. In anticipation of the Nabucco production where the audience will be invited to sing on the repeat of "Va, pensiero", the evening will include a "rehearsal" of that beautiful and meaning chorus by Giuseppe Verdi.
