Maryland Ensemble Theatre's Fun Company to Present THE LITTLE PRINCE
Maryland Ensemble Theatre's (MET) family theatre, The Fun Company, will present, "The Little Prince". Based on the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery and adapted by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar, "The Little Prince", is an imaginative story of an unlikely friendship between an aviator who lands in the Sahara Desert and a tiny prince who has fallen from the sky. The Prince tells tales of life and lessons learned among the stars. A show entertaining for the whole family, it will run at MET this February for ten performances over five weeks. "It's a true ensemble piece that is full of enchantment and heart," said Fun Company Artistic Director Julie Herber. "This is going to be a special treat for families to share together and it's our hope that it will spark many thoughtful discussions."
Antoine de Saint-Exupery, a French writer and pioneering aviator, wrote the novel that inspired the play, and it has become one of the best-selling books ever published. MET Ensemble member Matt Lee will direct the show. Lee will direct a talented cast featuring Jack Evans, Josh Nugent, Steve Custer, and Emily Raines. The design team includes Joann Lee and Cecelia Lee (set), Giovanni Kavota (lights), Julie Herber (costumes), Bailey Sterling (props) and Steve Younkins (illustrator). Performances will take place in the brand new Frank Greene Stage2 at MET, which provides the Fun Company its own family friendly venue. All performances of "The Little Prince" are at Maryland Ensemble Theatre, located in the historic FSK Hotel at 31 W Patrick Street. The show runs every Saturday and Sunday from February 7 through March 8 at 1:30pm. Tickets are $12 (plus a $1.50 service fee), and may be purchased by phone at (301) 694- 4744, online at marylandensemble.org or in person at the MET box office.
