On June 10, Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) held its annual Mainstage Season Preview in the scenic courtyard at Volt Restaurant in historic downtown Frederick, Maryland. The evening was a great success with a packed house enjoying cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and perfect early summer evening weather as they took in a sneak peak at MET's upcoming offerings.

The preview began with a medley of songs from "Oedipus Rox" that left onlookers in stitches. The World Premiere musical written by Sarah Shulman and with music by Thom Huenger will debut in April of 2016. This was followed by the heart-warming title song from the musical "The Gifts of the Magi" by O. Henry (with music by Randy Courts, lyrics by Mark St. Germain and Randy Courts), MET's holiday show this December.

Then came a hilarious scene from the farcical "One Man, Two Guvnors" (by Richard Bean) which will kick off MET's 18th Mainstage season in September. MET Company Member Matt Lee then read from Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" in place of the yet unwritten ensemble-created piece MET will develop for another World Premeire production that will open in late October. A short reading from Nina Raine's riveting play "Tribes", which MET will launch in February, was followed by a selection from Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Tracy Letts gripping and funny "Superior Donuts",? which will end the MET's upcoming season next May.

Following the preview, Chef Bryan Voltaggio, Volt co-owner with MET Board Member Hilda Staples, came on stage to select the winner of MET's raffle of dinner for two at Volt's exclusive Table 21. Chef Voltaggio generously and impulsively decided to double the number of winners, adding extra excitement to what was
already an entertaining and enjoyable evening for all in attendance.
