The Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway, a part of The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, has become known for bringing children's favorite stories to life on the stage. From the classics like Rumplestiltskin and Snow White to modern favorites like Pinkalicious and Flat Stanley, Way Off Broadway's Children's Theatre has been home to some of the most popular storybook characters.

To kick off the 2016 Season the Children's Theatre at Way Off Broadway will welcome yet another superstar of children's books, the one and only, Junie B. Jones. The show, aptly named Junie B. Jones - The Musical, will open January 23rd and run through April 9th.

In the fun filled stage show, it is Junie B.'s first day of first grade and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie's friend Lucille doesn't want to be her best pal anymore, and on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher Mr. Scary thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament, and a "Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal," and first grade has never been more exciting.

Junie B. Jones - The Musical features a cast that includes Paul Cabell, Melissa Ann Martin, Jordan B. Stocksdale, Laura Walling, Megan E. West, and Tori Weaver as Junie B.

Based on the book series by Barbara Park, the stage show has a book and lyrics by Marcy Heisler and music by Zina Goldrich. Way Off Broadway's production is under the direction of Jordan B. Stocksdale.

Children's Theatre performances are every Saturday afternoon, with matinees on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Tickets are $17 per person, allowing everyone to be a "kid" that day.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting the theatre or calling the Box Office at (301) 662-6600.

Following Junie B. Jones in the spring will be StinkyKids - The Musical.
