Chesapeake Shakespeare Company Seeks For New Plays For 2009-2010 Season

Maryland's premier classics theater company, Chesapeake Shakespeare Company is looking for new plays for our 2010 New Classics Play Series. Plays must have a classical theme or be a new translation/adaptation of a classical play. Three plays will be selected to be read as part of the CSC New Classics Play Series. Readings will have 2-3 rehearsals with local directors. Selected plays will be announced by December 2009. Submissions will receive an email response; however, individual critiques cannot be given. All submissions will be read blind. Final selections will be made by Chesapeake Shakespeare Company's Artistic Staff. CSC reserves the right to produce fewer than three plays.

The theatre welcomes one act and full-length submissions. Priority will be given to playwrights from the MD/DC area. Each play must include the author's full name, address, email address, phone number and agent's contact number (where applicable).

Mail submissions with a $10 reading fee (checks only, please, no credit cards) to Chesapeake Shakespeare Company: New Classics Plays, 8510 High Ridge Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043.
