Bay City Players Announces Auditions for CHARLEY'S AUNT 9/29, 9/30
Bay City Players will hold auditions for its upcoming production; a comedy, Charley's Aunt, by Brandon Thomas, on Tuesday, September 29 and Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Auditions will be held at Bay City Players, 1214 Columbus Avenue, in Bay City. Directed by Robin Devereaux.
Performance dates are November 13-15 and 19-22, 2009. Director, Robin Devereaux is looking for:
3 women (18 through 30), 1 woman (40 through 60)
3 men (18 through 30), 3 men (late 30s through 60)
THE PLOT: An hilarious comedy of lovers, impersonators, and a man stuck in a dress for the evening. Two young men are in love with two young women, but are forced to pass off their best friend as Charley's aunt "from Brazil: where the nuts come from." Then, the guy in the dress falls for a young lady and wants out of the dress. Then, that young lady's uncle falls for the guy in the dress. Then, Charley's real aunt shows up and you try to catch your breath from laughing so hard. A gem of a comedy.
Those auditioning will be asked to read selections from the script. Limited scripts are available for check-out from the theatre office Monday - Thursday from 9am to 2pm for a $10 refundable deposit.
