The Baltimore Shakespeare Factory (BSF) will host a Birthday Gala for William Shakespeare on Friday April 13th, 2012 at The Carriage House, Evergreen Museum & Library (6:30-9PM.) All proceeds from the event will benefit the BSF "Summer with Shakespeare" Scholarship Fund*.

The night will begin with a cocktail hour featuring Elizabethan music. Attendees can bid in our silent auction featuring fantastic items from local businesses and artisans. Tom Delise, Artistic Director of BSF, will give a short presentation on the theatre conditions of Shakespeare's day, followed by a talk from Dr. James Keegan. Dr. Keegan is a professor at Univ. of Delaware, Georgetown and a Resident Actor at the world famous American Shakespeare Center in Staunton VA, where he has recently been seen as King Lear, Falstaff, and Titus Andronicus. Dr. Keegan will address how knowledge of Shakespeare's staging conditions can influence an actor's performance. He will also participate in a Q & A with attendees. The evening will end with scenes from BSF's upcoming production of Macbeth, a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday, and cake.

Ticket prices are $100 per person (tables of 10 receive a discount of $10 per person) This price includes admission to the event, heavy hors d'oeuvres(by Charles Levine Catering), wine (by Boordy Vineyards), beer (by Flying Dog Brewery), and assorted soft drinks, plus a goodie bag that features free tickets to BSF's production of Macbeth ($20 value), a free pass for a guided tour of Evergreen Museum & Library, and several other surprises!
