Putnam Spelling Bee Raises Roof At Elkton Station

As a satellite venue for productions, Elkton Station is turning into a pretty good thing for Milburn Stone Theater. After Into the Woods, Jr. and Assassins sold out shows, comes The Putnam County Spelling Bee this weekend in a perfect example of a venue complementing a show.
"The fun thing of having Elkton Station is this show would be dwarfed at the main stage, it is a nine-person musical, not very big. Here it huge, it becomes bigger than life," said Director Andrew Mitchell. "The joy of Elk Station is that you get some intimacy that you wouldn't get on the main stage. Even the regular following of this show doesn't always get to see it this close and sometimes on a big stage you lose that intimacy."
The show at the smaller venue at Elkton Station is located at 107 Railroad Avenue in Elkton. There are four chances to see Putnam as it runs Thursday through Sunday. For more information about the show and tickets, contact the main Milburn Stone box office at (410) 287-1037.
