Photo Blast from Past: On the Set with ANNIE Cast in 1982October 10, 2014Today, we're featuring the cast of the Annie film, circa 1982. Annie is a Broadway musical based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music byCharles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and the book by Thomas Meehan. The original Broadway production opened in 1977 and ran for nearly six years, setting a record for the Alvin Theatre (now the Neil Simon Theatre). It spawned numerous productions in many countries, as well as national tours, and won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The musical's songs 'Tomorrow' and 'It's the Hard Knock Life' are among its most popular musical numbers.

Up on the Marquee: SIDE SHOW on BroadwayOctober 6, 2014The upcoming Broadway reimagining of Side Show, featuring leading ladies Erin Davie and Emily Padgett, opens on Broadway this fall, with a revised book and lyrics are by Bill Russell, with music by Henry Krieger, and additional book material by Bill Condon. Musical direction and arrangements are by Sam Davis (Dreamgirls at the Apollo), orchestrations are by six time Tony Award nominee Harold Wheeler, (Hairspray, Dreamgirls, The Wiz); and choreography is by Tony and Olivier Award nominee Anthony Van Laast (Mamma Mia). Since its inception, Jack Tantleff has serviced as Creative Supervisor.
