It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, when artist and artisan, newsman and newsmaker, singer and songwriter celebrate the holiday season with PBS. This year, Tony-winner Alfie Boe and veteran news anchor Tom Brokaw - along with 'Hal' Halvorsen, the 'candy bomber' who dropped chocolates into post-war Berlin in 1948 - join the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for an inspirational concert at Temple Square. Harking back to WWI, PBS presents Silent Night, a poignant opera based on the Christmas Eve truce of 1914, when French, German and Scottish soldiers laid down their arms for one evening of peace.

PBS will unwrap a special treat for viewers this holiday season with the CALL THE MIDWIFE HOLIDAY SPECIAL. Premiering Sunday, December 29, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. ET, the special will pave the way for a third season of the hit drama CALL THE MIDWIFE, which returns to PBS in spring 2014.

“Episode 1706” – Eight remaining couples hit the dance floor and face an exciting new challenge on “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, OCTOBER 21 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). Each couple will compete in an individual dance style they have not yet done as well as take part in the first ever “Switch-Up Challenge.” In this fresh take on a dance marathon, couples will compete side by side, in two rounds, with no prior knowledge of dance style or musical accompaniment. One by one, the judges will select couples to be tapped-off/removed from the dance floor. Extra judges' points will be awarded to couples based on longevity. The show will also feature a spectacular opening number with the entire cast, choreographed by Lacey and Benji Schwimmer. Additionally, musical guest Ariana Grande and Mika will perform their hit duet “Popular.” At the end of the night, one couple will face elimination.

According to E! Online, the Tony nominee and former VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE star is currently being considered to take on the lead role of 'Christian Grey' in the upcoming film adaptation of E.L. James' FIFTY SHADES OF GREY.

On Thanksgiving night, NOVEMBER 28 (9:30-11:00 p.m., ET), the ABC Television Network will air the 90-minute special, “Lady Gaga & The Muppets' Holiday Spectacular.” The broadcast offers an avant-garde twist on the classic holiday variety show as Lady Gaga goes backstage with The Muppets, making a performance dream come true for the multi-platinum singer songwriter when they combine forces to sing holiday favorites and Lady Gaga hits.

On THE ORIGINALS' upcoming episode, titled “Sinners and Saints,' angered by recent events involving the safety of his unborn baby, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) demands answers from Sophie (Daniella Pineda), believing she was involved. Sophie reveals to Klaus and Rebekah (Claire Holt) a troubling secret from her past. Meanwhile, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) asks Klaus to accompany him to the bayou after gruesome remains are discovered, while Rebekah, Sophie and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) set off on a mission of their own.
