According to The Hollywood Reporter, the MGM remake starring Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore, is on track to take in a solid $20 million this weekend, meeting Sony's projections.

OX has picked up nine additional episodes of the arresting new comedy BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, bringing the series to a 22-episode order, it was announced today by Kevin Reilly, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. BROOKLYN NINE-NINE will join NEW GIRL in a special one-hour comedy event, airing immediately following the Super Bowl XLVIII on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014.

Thursday night's Game 5 of the 2013 American League Championship Series, in which the Boston Red Sox took a commanding 3-2 series lead, delivered a 5.4/9 national household rating (8.6 million viewers) on FOX, according to Nielsen Media Research. Last night's 5.4/9 is up +23% over last year's 4.4/8 (7.1 million viewers) for Game 5 of the NLCS on FOX featuring the San Francisco Giants and St. Louis Cardinals.

According to Deadline, NBC has cancelled its struggling freshman series WELCOME TO THE FAMILY, starring Mike O'Malley and Mary McCormack, and its reboot of IRONSIDE, lead by Blair Underwood. FAMILY's cancellation is effective immediately, while IRONSIDE will air one additional episode next Wednesday, Oct. 23.

Fox has given a 13-episode series order to HIEROGLYPH, a fantastical action-adventure show produced by 20th Century Fox Television and Chernin Entertainment, and executive-produced by Peter Chernin (NEW GIRL, “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”), Katherine Pope (NEW GIRL) and Travis Beacham (“Pacific Rim,” “Clash of the Titans”), who wrote the pilot script. Miguel Sapochnik (“Repo Men,” “Fringe”) will serve as an executive producer on the project and will direct the premiere episode. Production is scheduled to begin in early 2014.

“Episode 1706” – Eight remaining couples hit the dance floor and face an exciting new challenge on “Dancing with the Stars,” MONDAY, OCTOBER 21 (8:00-10:01 p.m., ET). Each couple will compete in an individual dance style they have not yet done as well as take part in the first ever “Switch-Up Challenge.” In this fresh take on a dance marathon, couples will compete side by side, in two rounds, with no prior knowledge of dance style or musical accompaniment. One by one, the judges will select couples to be tapped-off/removed from the dance floor. Extra judges' points will be awarded to couples based on longevity. The show will also feature a spectacular opening number with the entire cast, choreographed by Lacey and Benji Schwimmer. Additionally, musical guest Ariana Grande and Mika will perform their hit duet “Popular.” At the end of the night, one couple will face elimination.
