You will also be treated to some traditional holiday favorites, in that signature sound that the CCMC is famous for!

'Deceit' is a suspenseful and compelling play by Richard Ploetz that reveals how far some people are willing to take their lies to protect the fragile nature of 'being normal.' Theater for the New City will present the piece, directed by Andreas Robertz, January 10 to 27 in its Cino Theater.

The Wicked Young Writers' Award announced its winners for 2012 at a prestigious ceremony on 6th December at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, home of the award-winning musical Wicked. The ceremony was hosted by Louise Dearman, who stars as Elphaba, and prizes were presented by Michael Morpurgo, best-selling author of War Horse and Chair Judge of the Award.

As part of the eighth edition of the COIL festival, Performance Space 122 (PS122) and The Invisible Dog Art Center present the U.S. premiere of SACRE, from French choreographer David Wampach and his company Association Achles. Performed by Wampach and dancer Tamar Shelef, SACRE is a radical reimagining of Vaslav Nijinsky's The Rite of Spring. The duet attempts to maintain the earthy, wild dissonance of the 1913 original.

Segerstrom Center's International Dance Season continues February 8 - 10 with the return of Hamburg Ballet performing its hauntingly compelling production of The Little Mermaid. This sophisticated interpretation of the classic story delves into the deeper themes of conflicted love and loss. Neumeier's contemporary version of The Little Mermaid explores two divergent worlds: the serenity and simplicity of underwater life and the complex, often absurd, lives of humans.

Director Adam Isenberg received the Margaret Mead Filmmaker Award at the 2012 Margaret Mead Film Festival on Sunday, December 2, for his film A Life Without Words (Una Vida Sin Palabras), a story of two deaf siblings in rural Nicaragua living entirely without written, spoken, or signed language. Isenberg was selected from among 10 contenders by a jury that included Judith Helfand, Mohan Bonetti, Dan Cogan, and director and anthropologist Patricia Cardoso.

Singer-songwriter Celia Ramsay, will headline at the Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse with her all-star band in January 2013 to release her newest CD, I'll Just Lie About It. Celia's band includes local standouts Tony Marcus, Patrice Haan, Jeff Sanford and John Wiitala. The new album debuts Celia as a songwriter, and the album has a distinctly 1930's jazz sensibility. Some of her songs are pure Blues while others are a humorous 'Ella Fitzgerald meets Mark Graham' mix, creating an album that is nicely balanced between dark blue songs and upbeat, sometimes bawdy humor.

"An Evening with The Coterie", a night of thirteen musical theater and opera premieres, will be presented at the National Opera Center on December 15th at 7:30pm. The concert will feature soprano Lauren Worsham and lyrics by Royce Vavrek, co-founders of opera-theater company The Coterie, and two of the artists behind composer David T. Little's critically acclaimed opera "Dog Days", which premiered this September at Peak Performances @ Montclair.

Word for World presents You Know When the Men Are Gone, a world premiere production of two short stories 'The Last Stand' and 'Gold Star" by Sioban Fallon from her debut book. How I Paid For College, based on Marc Acito's award-winning novel, will be presented as a world premiere tour-de-force monologue with songs, or a 'monologsical,' by Broadway actor Alex Brightman (Wicked, Glory Days). Directed by Helen Pafumi, the play tells the hilarious yet heartwarming tale of a talented but irresponsible teen actor who schemes to steal his tuition money when his wealthy father refuses to pay for acting school.
